ABOUT ME

G.D. Obermiller is a fifth-generation Texan who has worked in the oil field, as a ranch hand, and in the stockyards; served as a Navy Corpsman and an editor for a naval hospital newsletter; and taught college English. He earned an MFA in Creative Writing and is the author of four previous novels, several screenplays, short stories, and a one-act play produced in Austin, Texas.

When not at work on the next Nick Fischer mystery, he enjoys volunteering with the San Antonio Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy and the Wounded Warrior Project.

As an avid outdoorsman, G.D. has hunted, fished, hiked, camped, and ridden horseback throughout Texas and the mountain west. His motorcycle adventures have taken him up the Alaska Highway to Prudhoe Bay and through the Andes Mountains to Ushuaia, Argentina.

He currently lives in San Antonio with his daughter and faithful Labrador retriever.
